Mr. Walter (Eddie) Bartnikowski 82, formerly of Duryea, a guest at Highland Manor Nursing Center, Exeter, passed away February 1, 2008 at the facility.
Born in Duryea. He was the son of the late Stanley and Katherine (Uniatowski) Bartnikowski.
He was a graduate of Duryea High School, and he served in the United States Army during World War II. Prior to his retirement he was employed by the former Simplex, Mfg., Taylor.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Duryea, and was a member of the Polish Falcons Nest 128 Duryea.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Joseph; and three sisters, Martha Gechunis, Stella Bonita and Josephine De Marco.
Surviving are nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews
Funeral will be held Tuesday at 10a.m. from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc. 204 Main Street Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Duryea. Internment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea.
Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. The Dupont AMVETS Post 189 with conduct Military Services on Tuesday morning.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the emergency furnace appeal at Holy Rosary Church, Duryea.
