The Knights of Columbus Council 280 recently presented the Little Sisters of the Poor at Holy Family Residence with a check for $2,000. The gift will be used to help the Sisters in their mission of caring for the elderly poor. The Little Sisters of the Poor, who have been serving in Northeastern Pennsylvania since 1908, work closely with staff, volunteers and benefactors in creating a family spirit for the residents. They welcome the elderly who have limited funds and provide for their needs so they can live their last years in an atmosphere of respect, dignity and love.
