Pittston Area’s Jordan Consagra was pulling double duty Friday night.

Following his soccer team’s game against Wyoming Area, the Patriot standout traveled to Tunkhannock to take over the kicking duties for the football team.

In the meantime, Consagra scored a pair of goals in the second half, and added an assist, to lead Pittston Area to a 3-0 win over rival Wyoming Area Friday in Wyoming Valley Conference boys soccer action.

That would be his first win of the day. Pittston Area and Consagra capped off a 2-win day by beating Tunkhannock, 12-10, on the gridiron.

After a somewhat lopsided first half in favor of the Warriors, the Patriots finally got going. It started with a penalty kick awarded to the Patriots in the 47th minute.

Consagra scored for the 1-0 Patriot lead.

Twelve minutes after his first goal, Consagra scored unassisted to double the Patriot lead. Colin Tracy added the final tally from Consagra in the 73rd minute.

In the first half, Wyoming Area had its fair share of chances.

Gared Zaboski and Nick Gushka had multiple rushes that didn’t end in shots. Zaboski got a few shots off toward the net, sailing high.

Gushka and the Warriors had a great chance for a first-half goal with 10 minutes to play in the first half off of the game’s first corner kick.

The ball couldn’t have been placed better and Gushka got his body on it. But defender Nick Terpak and Taylor Roberts were able to make the stop.

Roberts finished with five saves for the Patriots. Wyoming Area got four saves from Aaron Carter. The shots were 12-10 in favor of Pittston Area.

Berwick 0

Jordan Consagra scored three times in the first five minutes of the game and figured in on all six goals for the Patriots in a 6-0 victory over Berwick in Wyoming Valley Conference boys soccer Wednesday.

Matt Tavaglione added a goal and two assists. Taylor Roberts made nine saves for the shutout.

Wyoming Area 0

Hanover Area 0

Hanover Area and Wyoming Area battled to a scoreless duel through two halves and two overtimes before ending in a 0-0 tie Monday in a Wyoming Valley Conference Division boys soccer standstill.

Josh Gagliardi made 22 saves in the net for Hanover Area, while Aaron Carter made 16 for Wyoming Area.

John Andrews found the back of the net twice and added an assist for the Comets, while Matt Wimpfheimer, Sam Skonieczki and Kyle Gregaris also scored.
