PITTSTON CENTER

The Pittston Active Adult Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. New members are welcome to come aboard. Free coffee is available from 8:30 a.m. to closing. The center now has wifi available.

Exercise classes are now being offered at the center five times a week. Healthy Steps are at 9 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday with Ruth and Catherine, and on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Thursdays at 9 a.m. Sit and Be Fit Chair Exercise Classes with Mary and Sandi are held. There is no charge for these classes. On Tuesday afternoons at 2 p.m., Zumba Gold classes are offered for a small fee. Anita LoPresto is the instructor.

On Mondays at 10 a.m. Line Dancing class with Sue is held. The crochet club with Katherine meets at 10 a.m. as well on Mondays.

Cards, shuffleboard, Wii bowling, and computer with internet access is also available throughout the day. The pitch group is seeking new members to join them on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m.

Ceramic classes are offered on Wednesdays. Ann Pisano is the instructor. There is a fee for this class and for purchasing of supplies.

Needlepoint class with Mary is held on Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. New members are welcome to join.

Reservations are now being taken for the following trips:

Thursday, Sept. 26, Feast of San Gennaro at the Brownstone Grand. Cost is $79 which includes round trip motor coach transportation, family-style dinner, two complimentary drinks, and a show featuring singing sensation Angelo Uccello and Italian comic Uncle Floyd Vivino.

Tuesday, Oct. 22, Penn’s Peak. Cost is $65.00 which includes motor coach transportation, dinner and the King Henry Show.

Thursday, Nov. 7, Sands Casino in Bethlehem. Cost is $25 with a $20 in free play and a $5 food voucher.

Thursday, Dec. 5, Pines Dinner Theater. Cost is $72 which includes meal, motor coach transportation and Walkin’ in the Winter Wonderland Christmas Show.

The Falls Active Adult Center invites anyone 55 and older to the following activities:

Mondays: 10-11:30 a.m. Wii bowling competition with Tunkhannock Center ( alternating sites).

Mondays: 1-2 p.m. Crocheting Club ( all levels welcome).

Tuesdays & Fridays: 11-11:45 a.m. ” Healthy Steps” exercise program

Wednesdays: 10-10:45 a.m. Walking club

Wednesdays: 1-2 p.m week 3 of 5 weeks to a Healthier You.

Tuesdays: Brain games at lunch

Thursdays: Nutrition talks at lunch

Fridays: 9 a.m to noon Geocaching activity

Saturday, Sept. 14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Art Show

Sunday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Art Show. Meet and Greet the artists reception 3-5 p.m.

Anyone wishing to join us for a hot noon meal for a suggested donation of $2 should RSVP to Twila at 388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before. The Center is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. It is located on SR 92.
