Anthony Michael Lizza, 58, of Old Forge, died Wednesday morning as a result of injuries suffered in an auto accident on Interstate 81 in Avoca.
Born in Taylor, a son of Anthony C. and Anna Arpaia Lizza, Old Forge, he was a 1972 graduate of Old Forge High School. Anthony was a master plumber who operated his own business for many years. In years past, he also resided in Yatesville, Pittston, Dallas and Duryea.
Tony was truly a kind-hearted individual who would never turn a friend away. His calm nature and almost child-like exuberance made him easy to get along with and a joy to be around. He loved his family, including his pets, with his whole being. Tony enjoyed music and also took flight lessons in the past.
Also surviving are a daughter, Amber Lizza McKenna, and her husband, Edward, Wilkes-Barre; two sons, Anthony J. Lizza, Washington, D.C., and Steffen Lizza, Forty Fort; a brother, Mark Lizza, and his companion, Patricia Best, Old Forge; two grandchildren, Emma and Olivia; a niece, Lauren Lizza; two nephews, Mark Angelo and Nicholas Lizza; and his companion, Debbie Olivieri, Old Forge.
Funeral services were Saturday in the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge. Interment followed in Old Forge Cemetery.
