The Salvation Army in West Pittston needs support for its summer camping programs. Last summer the Salvation Army averaged 30 children a day at its Summer Day program, providing them with art/crafts, recreation and day trips such as Frances Slocum Park, Sno Mountain and Knobel’s Amusement Resort.

The Army also has a summer camping program which sends 30 children to Camp Ladore in the Poconos.

This is a 5-day, 4-night camp with a counselor. It costs $350 to send one child to Camp Ladore.

The parent is charged a nominal fee and the Salvation Army, through donations, covers the rest.
