All fourth-grade students in the Pittston Area School District completed the Junior Deputy Program, sponsored by the Luzerne County Sheriff’s Department. Deputy Erin Joyce conducted the program that included topics such as gun safety, retail theft, alcohol, drugs, “stranger danger” and bullying. The students completed the program by saying the “Junior Deputy Pledge” and received a certificate and badge.
