Dupont Borough Council will meet on tuesday, July 9, at 7 p.m. in the municipal building.
Other meeting dates are: Compost meeting, July 10, 7 p.m.; Crime Watch meeting, July 30, 6:30 p.m.; Food Drive, July 25, Borough Building 4-5 p.m.
Recycling dates
Recycling in the borough will take place on the following dates: July 3 and 17, Comingle, cans, bottles, plastic; July 10 and 24, Mixed Paper, Cardboard, newsprint.
Residents on the list for recycling bins can stop by the borough office after July 15 to pickup the recycling bins. Contact the office if you are unable to pickup and need delivery.
Chicken BBQ
The 50th Annual Open Pit Chicken Barbecue sponsored by Branch #2, YMS of R of Holy Mother of Sorrows Church, 212 Wyoming Avenue, Dupont, will be held from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 13. Donation is $9. Dinner includes half a chicken, coleslaw, french fries, roll, cake and beverage.
Softball tournament
The Dupont Softball Tournament is July 19, 20, 21 on Elm Street.
VFW meeting
The Dupont VFW post 4909 will hold its next meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5 at the post home.
Many items of importance will be discussed and reports given.
Commander Gary Carwardine will preside.
The Home Association meeting will follow.
Food, refreshments and camaraderie will occur after both meetings.
