Students from Wyoming Area’s Tenth Street School participated in a fundraiser to benefit the American Red Cross. The project was to show support and provide relief to those recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Fourth, fifth and sixth grade classes participated. The sixth graders in Mrs. Michelle Harden’s homeroom coordinated the sale of Red Cross Buttons that the children purchased and then decorated. These were hung in the hall and on display during parent conferences. The children raised $300 in four-days. In addition, another $225 was collected from parent donations. Representatives from the Wilkes-Barre chapter of the Red Cross visited the school to thank the students for their efforts.
