C.J. Naples, of Westerville, Ohio, son of Elmer and Judy Naples, formerly of Pittston and Exeter, has started his college career at Ohio State University where he will major in Business Administration and Criminal Justice with the intent of pursuing a career as a U.S. Secret Service Agent or U.S. Marshal.

Naples graduated from Westerville Central High School on May 25. In his high school career, he excelled in the classroom, along with football and lacrosse.

In his junior year of 2012, he won a championship in each sport. During the 2013 lacrosse season, Naples led all Central Ohio players by scoring 61 goals in 18 games. He was selected lacrosse player of the week by the Columbus Dispatch for scoring nine goals in a single game, setting a team record.

Naples was also selected to play in the Central Ohio lacrosse All-Star game on June 15 at Ohio Wesleyan University Stadium, in which he led all players with a 4-goal performance. In addition, he made first team All-League and All-Region honors in lacrosse this past season.

He received his high school’s Bob Fresch Scholarship, awarded to a football player for off the field community service and leadership. He turned down multiple offers to play football and lacrosse at the next level to concentrate on his studies.

Naples is the grandson of Beatrice Naples, of Pittston Township, the late Charles Naples and Fred and Tecla Pennesi.
