Leadership Wilkes-Barre to honor Pittston native Jim Brogna

Leadership Wilkes-Barre announced that Jim Brogna, will be awarded the 2013 Distinguished Leadership Award at the upcoming Annual Dinner and Graduation; which will be held Thursday, June 6, at Genetti’s Hotel & Conference Center. The dinner celebrates Leadership Wilkes-Barre’s graduating class of 2013, marking 32 years of developing community leaders, and welcomes the incoming Class of 2014.

Brogna, Assistant Vice President of Institutional Advancement to Allied Services, is a 2001 graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre’s Core program.

Within Allied Services, his priorities are internal and external public relations, developing new funding and helping to coordinate marketing initiatives for Allied Services Integrated Health System. Whether working with co-workers to enhance Allied Services role in the community or serving on the marketing team, every element of his professional role revolves around the non-profit health and human service organizations identity in the community.

Brogna helps to ensure that this role is visible throughout the 23 counties and on behalf of thousands of residents they serve in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania.

Brogna strongly values how important his wife and three children are in his role as a dedicated volunteer for so many non-profit organizations. From his active role as a Board Member of Catholic Social Services to his current role of president of Kiwanis Club of Mountain Top, and including every volunteer opportunity that he has accepted, he feels truly blessed to have a loving and supporting family who allow him to invest so much time for the benefit of these community services.

Brogna will be presented with the Distinguished Leadership Award at the 32nd Annual Leadership Wilkes-Barre Dinner and Graduation where 47 local professionals who have dedicated nearly ten months to learning about the community in which they live, work, and play will be celebrated and the incoming Class of 2014 will be welcomed.

Terri Kosakowski, Business Banking Relationship Manager to M&T Bank, will serve as chairperson for the 2013 Annual Dinner & Graduation. She is a graduate of Leadership Wilkes-Barre Class of 2005 and currently serves on the LWB Board of Directors and the Alumni Council.
