Master Gardeners from Penn State Extension will be at the Pittston City Farmers’ Market every other week starting Tuesday, Sept. 10.

They will be available to answer questions relating to vegetable gardens, trees and flowers, along with outside insect identification.

Participating in the Farmers’ Market are Dymond’s Farm, Brace’s Orchard, Golomb’s Farm, Paul’s Plums, Tim’s Chili, Jewelry Gypsy, and Joe Merante’s homemade soap, candles, pickles, jam.

Maria Capolarella Montante will chance off harvest baskets filled by local farmers at 1 p.m. on Sept. 17. Chances are free to market shoppers.

Friends of the Pittston Memorial Library will sell chances for a holiday basket on Sept. 17. Proceeds will benefit Library programs for children and adults. The drawing will be held in November.

Mary Angelella is coordinator of the farmers’ market and can be reached at 655-6140.
