Avoca Borough Street Department will collect three white goods per each household displaying a valid 2013 garbage sticker. Allowable items are: washer, dryer, hot water heater, stove, dishwasher, refrigerator or freezer with doors removed and air conditioners. Microwave ovens and electronics are not allowed.
Place items at curbside before night of collections, which will be July 9 and 10.
VFW AUXILIARY
Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post 8335 will not have a regular monthly meeting in July. In lieu of the meeting, the Ladies will have a covered dish dinner at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 20 at the post home, 915 Main St. Following dinner a Bingo party will be enjoyed by all members.
The next meeting will be Aug. 5 with Mary Ann Tigue, Sandy Rosser, and Louise Bartush as hostesses. Newly elected officers will begin their 2013-2014 term at this meeting.
