Mr. and Mrs. William J. Conlon Sr., Jenkins Township, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Mary Kathleen Conlon, to Brian Michael Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Johnson, Eynon.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jean Conlon and the late Mr. James L. Conlon Jr., Jenkins Township, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph F. Long Sr., Wilkes-Barre.

Miss Conlon is a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and Marywood University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English secondary education. She is currently employed as a secondary English educator with the Baltimore County Public Schools and is presently a graduate student at Towson University pursuing a master’s degree in the human resource development, educational leadership track.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. Clifford D. Johnson and the late Mrs. Nancy Johnson, Archbald, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Drutarovsky, Jessup.

Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Valley View High School and Marywood University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communication arts in digital media and broadcast production with a minor in journalism. He is currently employed as a photojournalist for Sinclair Broadcasting at the local Fox affiliate WBFF in Baltimore, Maryland. Previously, he worked as a photojournalist for the local ABC affiliate WNEP in Moosic.

The couple will exchange vows on July 2, 2016, in St. Maria Goretti Church, Laflin.
