Ellen Renfer and David Mawson were united in marriage on June 20, 2015, in a garden wedding officiated by Mr. Robert Henson, stepfather of the bride, at the Renfer homestead in Suscon.
The bride is the daughter of Merle Renfer and Lynn Renfer and stepdaughter of Robert Henson and Michelle Wescott. She is the granddaughter of John and Susan McCutcheon, Joseph Dunn and the late Mary Jean Woods and the late Merle and Ellen Renfer. She is a 2012 graduate of Pittston Area High School and was employed as an assistant manager at Dollar Tree, Pittston.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Mawson. He is the grandson of Bernadette Mawson and Jim and Rose Armitage. He is a graduate of Pittston Area High School, class of 2012. He now serves in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Layte Gulf stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.
The bridal party consisted of maid of honor, Ali Quinn; bridesmaids, Christine D’Agostino, Sarah Morreale, Angelina Reed, Kelley Renfer, Marissa Forsche; junior birdesmaid, Tori Stephenson; and flower girl, Taylor Stephenson, godchild of the bride. The groomsmen consisted of best man, Jacob Zaleski; groomsmen, Ryan Renfer, Joshua Mawson, Christian Mawson and R.J. Gabello; junior groomsmen, Dustin Dorrea; and ring bearer, Tyler Stephenson.
The bridal shower was hosted by mothers of the bride and bridal party at Memorable Occasions in Duryea in April. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Romano’s Pizzeria in Avoca. An evening reception was hosted by the parents of the bride at Memorable Occasions in Duryea.
The bride and groom currently reside in Norfolk, Virginia.
