Lisa Zelinski and Shannon McCabe exchange vows

Lisa Anne Zelinski and Shannon Matthew McCabe were united in marriage on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015 at Saint John the Evangelist Church in Pittston by Msgr. John Bendik.

The bride is the daughter of Anthony and Margaret Zelinski of West Pittston. She is the granddaughter of the late Roscoe and Margaret Mulcahy of Pittston and the late Anthony and Margaret Zelinski of Dupont.

The groom is the son of Florence McCabe of Wilkes-Barre and the late James McCabe. He is the grandson of the late Andrew and Victoria Novakowski of Wilkes-Barre and the late James and Mary McCabe of Pittston.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She chose her sister, Laura Harris of Haymarket, Virginia, as her matron of honor. Junior bridesmaid was niece of the bride Isabella Zelinski, West Pittston. Bridesmaids were Tanya Brown, Wilkes-Barre; Asha Fine-Meredith, Abingdon, Maryland; Jill McCabe, Bloomfield, New Jersey; Laura McCabe, Mountain Top; Jennifer Molinaro, Pittston.

The groom chose his brother, Brandon McCabe of Mountain Top, as his best man. Groomsmen were Erik Adzema, Swoyersville; Jason Brown, Wilkes-Barre; Jimmy McCabe, Bloomfield, New Jersey; Mike McKeown, Pittston Township; Joseph Wojcik, Pittston.

Charlotte Harris of Haymarket, Virginia and Molly McCabe of Bloomfield, New Jersey, nieces of the bride and groom, served as flower girls.

Scriptural readings were given by Judith Sheridan, godmother of the groom, Andrew Harris, brother-in-law of the bride, and John Alaimo, uncle and godfather of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Nicole Engleman, Kathy Leyh, and Raymond Borkowski, cousins of the groom.

Joseph and Judith Sheridan hosted an engagement party for the couple at their home in Kingston. The mother of the bride hosted a bridal shower at the Apple Tree Terrace in Dallas. The groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Perugino’s Restaurant in Luzerne. The bride’s parents hosted a cocktail hour and reception at the Apple Tree Terrace.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Seton Catholic High School; 2003 graduate of King’s College in mass communications and media technology; 2005-2007 Peace Corps volunteer, Benin, West Africa; 2009 graduate of Wilkes University in English with secondary education; 2013 masters graduate of Wilkes University in classroom technology.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of Hoban High School; 2003 graduate of Penn State University in kinesiology; 2006 masters graduate of Wilkes University in special education.

The couple is currently employed by the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.
