Pittston Memorial Library offering fall garden series

The Pittston Memorial Library, in conjunction with Penn State Master Gardeners, are hosting a fall garden series in the community room of the Pittston Memorial Library, 47 Broad Street, Pittston.

The classes are separate and participants can attend one, two or all three. The cost is $4 for each, payable at the front door of class night, or in advance at the library. For all three classes the cost is $10. Light refreshments will be served.

Perennial Herbs will be presented at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13. Students will learn about different perennial herbs that come back each year. You will be inspired to add a few plants that will reward you with a fresh harvest of foliage, fruit or roots.

Winter Color for Your Garden will be presented at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3. Learn about trees, colorful fruits and various shades of green that can be incorporated into your plantings to add color and excitement to your winter landscape.

Spring Flower Garden for Northeast Pennsylvania will be offered at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 8. Now is the time to begin thinking spring. When using the correct plants for your garden you can have years of enjoyment with little work.
