PITTSTON — The Pet Zone recently celebrated its 30th year in business with a rabies clinic held at the store on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Owner Bill Pambianco Sr. started the business in an 800-square-foot facility on Main Street in 1985. In 2004, he moved to the current space, which is a total of 12,000-square feet with a reptile cave downstairs that features alligators and venomous snakes.
During the anniversary celebration, more than 100 rabies vaccines were administered, which were $10 each. There were also CPR classes and food available at the celebration. Proceeds went to local animal shelters, as well as Wyoming Area graduate Stephanie Jallen.
Pet Zone is located on West Oak Street in Pittston.
