Patchy fog will lift for a mostly sunny Thursday

Patchy fog will remain throughout the Wyoming Valley until mid-morning with a high near 67 on Thursday.

The National Weather Service reported that it was 50 degrees at 6:58 a.m. at the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre International Airport.

Fog will lift and give way to mostly sunny skies for Thursday. There will be a light wind becoming west at 6 mph in the afternoon. Thursday night will be partly cloudy with a low around 53.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Friday, especially after 2 p.m. The high will be near 70. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Possible rainfall amounts are expected to be between a quarter and half inch of rain. More showers are likely after 7 p.m. on Friday. The low will be around 46 degrees.

The weekend starts with a mostly sunny day with a high near 61 on Saturday. Saturday night will be mostly clear with a low around 41.
