LAFLIN — The Oblates of St. Joseph Laity Association will host its fall formation conference from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7 in St. Joseph’s Chapel, ighway 315, Laflin. The celebration of Mass will follow the conference at 4:30 p.m. with the serving of refreshments afterwards.
This year, Reverend Mariusz Beczek, O.S.J. will serve as guest speaker covering the topic for the presentation, “Reflections by Pope Francis after his recent visit to the USA, particularly for The World Meeting of Families.”
Fr. Mariusz was born in Ryki, Poland and ordained to the priesthood as an Oblate of St. Joseph in 1998. He attended St. John’s Seminary in Camarillo, California, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Moral Theology. He received a Systematic Theology Degree from The Jesuit School of Theology of Santa Clara University in 2010, a Graduate Certificate in Spiritual Direction from Aquinas Institute of Theology in St. Louis, Missouri in 2014 and a Certificate in Health Care Ethics from the National Catholic Bioethics Center in Philadelphia in 2015.
Since his ordination, Fr. Mariusz has served the Oblates of St. Joseph in California from 1998 to 2015 and is currently the formation director at the newly-established Oblates of St. Joseph House of Formation in Bala Cynwyd.
