Residential yard waste collection begins April 11 in Pittston

PITTSTON — Curbside residential yard waste collection will begin on Monday, April 11.

Residents can place open containers curbside that includes grass clippings, leaves and branches. Containers may not exceed 30 pounds in weight and branches are to be less than four inches in diameter and less than four feet in length, bundled with twine. Tree trunks, large diameter branches, rock or dirt are unacceptable.

Yard waste will be collected every other week with the properties on the north end of the city from the Duryea Borough line to William Street being collected on Mondays, and the south end from William Street to Jenkins Township line being collected on Wednesdays.

Recycling calendars are available at Pittston City Hall, 35 Broadt St.
