Gutowski named to dean’s list

PHILADELPHIA — Michael Gutowski, son of Babe and Jeanne Gutowski, West Avoca, was named to the dean’s list at Temple University’s Fox School of Business for the spring semester. Gutowski has been notified that he has been accepted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars at Temple University. He will enter his sophomore year in the fall and has attained a 3.94 grade point average.

Murphy places at advertising competition

SCRANTON — Carly Murphy, Pittston, was one of six students from The University of Scranton’s 2016 student adverting team that placed fifth against teams from colleges in Pennsylvania, New York and Washington, D.C., in the District 2 National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC). The district competition took place in April in New York City.

The team was required to perform research, create, write and present an integrated advertising campaign in response to a real-world advertising challenge currently faced by Snapple.

Snyder graduates from Grove City

GROVE CITY — Frank Snyder, the son of Frank and Lisa Snyder, Wyoming, was one of 595 seniors to earn their degree from Grove City College on May 14.

Frank earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management. Frank is a 2009 graduate of home school.

Kutztown names locals to dean’s list

KUTZTOWN — Several local students have been named to the spring dean’s list at Kutztown University. To be eligible for dean’s list, an undergraduate student must be registered for at least 12 credits and have a minimum grade point average of 3.60.
