WILKES-BARRE — A Pennsylvania State Trooper was sentenced to 15 months probation Tuesday for using a state-issued credit card to pump gas into her personal vehicle.

Annmarie Cebula, 36, of Market Street, Pittston, pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking and was immediately sentenced. Luzerne County Judge Joseph Sklarosky Jr. ordered Cebula, a trooper assigned to the Shickshinny barracks, to pay $46 in restitution.

Citing financial troubles, Cebula admitted to using the card to fuel her vehicle on Oct. 24 and Oct. 28 at the Sunoco gas station in Pittston, according to the criminal complaint. Both transactions were caught on video surveillance.

Officials said Cebula, hired in 2007, remains suspended without pay.
