PITTSTON — Jenna Lombardo, daughter of James and Kimberly Lombardo, and Emilee Shaw, daughter of Patti Dowd and Ron Shaw, competed at several regional competitions this year including All American Talent in King of Prussia and more recently, Beyond the Stars in Flanders, New Jersey.
The duo competed at Beyond the Stars in May, entering the 10-12 year-old category and winning first place for their hip-hop dance to “Mamma Said Knock You Out,” which also received the judges “Funky and Fresh Award.” The tap to “Something Bad” received a High Gold Award.
This past February, the duo attended All American Talent, winning a Platinum Award for their jazz dance to “Scream” and High Gold for their hop-hop to “Mama Said Knock You Out.”
In the solo category, Lombardo won first place for her jazz to “Put the Gun Down” and a High Gold for her contemporary to “Dollhouse” at Beyond the Stars in May. Lombardo won High Gold for both her lyrical to “This Grudge” and her contemporary to “Dollhouse” at All American Talent. Lombardo attends Pittston Area School District and will enter eighth grade.
Emilee Shaw also placed in the solo category, winning fifth place for her musical theatre performance to “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” and received a High Gold for her contemporary to “Human” at Beyond the Stars in May. Shaw took High Gold for both her contemporary to “Human” and her modern to “Panem” at All American Talent. Shaw attends Pittston Area School District and will enter seventh grade.
Both girls attend Spotlight Dance Studio in Pittston under the direction of Christina Koons.
