PITTSTON — Just when Barb Sciandra thought she was finished announcing events for the annual Paint Pittston Pink, she threw another curveball.

The Second Cnnual Celebrity Bartending Night will be from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Red Mill, South Main Street with everal local “celebrities” serving as bartenders. Sciandra has selected former Major League Baseball player Andy Ashby to also participate as a Pink Bartender.

Joining Ashby will be Corinne Agolino Salko, Alan Kiesinger, Dr. Joseph Leo, Mark Mihalka, Angie Morgan, Lindo Sabatini and Dr. Bruce Saidman.

Pink Bouncers for the night will be Sammy Agolino, Dr. Shawn Casey and Chris Martin. A $10 donation will be asked at the door. Food and drink specials will be available.

Ashby has taken on the quest in honor of his mother who is a breast cancer survivor.

While playing for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons early in the 1991 season on the last step before debuting in the majors, Ashby met his wife, the former Tracy Tigue of Hughestown. Ashby then made a home in the Greater Pittston area and the family now resides in Jenkins Township.

Andy and Tracy have four daughters, Eastin, a sophomore at Emerson College; Madison, a freshman at The University of Scranton; Taryn, a junior at Pittston Area High School; and Ashton, a sophomore at Pittston Area High School.
