Rain expected in the Wyoming Valley by the midweek

Sunshine will stick around the Wyoming Valley until the midweek, when rain will move into the region.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 41 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies kicking off the day.

Sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 53. Mostly clear skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 33.

Mostly sunny skies will return on Tuesday, with a high near 54.

Clouds will move back into the region on Tuesday night, with a slight chance of showers late into the night. The low will be around 45.

Rain is expected on Wednesday, with a 100 percent of precipitation currently predicted. Winds could also gust to as high as 25 miles per hour. The high will be near 63.

That 100 percent chance of rain will carry over into Wednesday night, with a low around 54.
