BETHLEHEM — A crash involving a car and a bus carrying members of a university rowing team left the bus flipped over on its roof on a highway and the car’s driver dead. No major injuries to students were reported.

The crash, involving a Lehigh University bus, happened Tuesday on a highway near the Lehigh-Northampton county line in eastern Pennsylvania.

The county coroner’s office says the car’s driver, 28-year-old Rodney Dale Sigley Jr. of Bethlehem, was partially ejected. Sigley previously lived in Quakertown.

Lehigh spokeswoman Lori Friedman says there were no major injuries to the 20 students from the school’s men’s and women’s crew team or to university personnel. She says the students were taken to hospitals for evaluation.

State police are investigating the cause of the crash.
