WILKES-BARRE — Kristen Santey, of Pittston, was one of 15 Wilkes University students inducted into the Teacher Education Program at a pinning ceremony attended by administrators, faculty, parents, friends and students on Oct. 20.

The ceremony marked the students’ achievement of completing the Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements for entrance into the Teacher Education Program: passing a test of basic skills for educators, earning at least a 3.0 GPA, completing 48 credit hours including six credits in mathematics and six credits in English.

Santey is an elementary and early childhood education major with dual certification in special education.
