Exercise classes offered

PITTSTON — Exercise classes are offered at the center at 9 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Healthy Steps classes with Ruth and Catherine are held at 11 a.m. on Tuesdays. Sit and Be Fit chair exercise classes with Sandi are held at 9 a.m. on Thursdays. There is no charge for these classes. Zumba Gold classes with Tony are held from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. on Tuesdays. Cost per class is $2.

Apprise counselors are now taking appointments for Medicare Part D Open Enrollment Period. Anyone wishing to have their current prescription plan reviewed may Connie or Hazel at the center at 570-655-5561 to set up an appointment.

Reservations are open for the American Music Theater trip on Wednesday, Nov. 18. For further details, contact Connie at 570-655-5561.

Bridge players interested in forming a bridge club may contact Connie at 570-655-5561. The club would meet Wednesday and/or Friday afternoons.

The center now offers ballroom dance lessons with Joseph Kull, instructor. Classes are from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursdays. Cost per class is $2 per person and class size is limited.

Pitch games will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Free coffee is available from 8:30 a.m. to closing.

Lunch is served at noon Monday to Friday. Asking donation is $2 for those 60 years of age or older and $4.62 for those under 60 years of age. Reservations must be made by noon at least one day in advance. To make reservations, call the center at 570-655-5561.


Veterans Day Luncheon is Nov. 9

EXETER TWP. — Veterans Day Special Lunch and recognition will be held Monday, Nov. 9.

Tuesday, Nov. 10 will be a bag lunch day as the center will close at 11 a.m. The center will be closed for Veterans Day Wednesday, Nov. 11.

A Christmas Bell Project will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Monday, Nov. 16.

The following activities are available throughout the week to anyone ages 50 and older at the Falls Active Adult Center:

Mondays: 10:30 a.m. to noon, Craft Club meets. Many projects are offered with all supplies provided.

Tuesdays: Brain games at lunch. Bingo following lunch.

Wednesdays: 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Walking group meets, weather permitting. Nutrition tips at lunch.

Thursdays: Nutrition talks at lunch. Bingo will be held following lunch.

Fridays: 9:30 a.m. to noon Geocaching activity, weather permitting. Free Zumba Gold from 9:15 to 10 a.m.

The Falls Active Adult Center recently started the Garden Project. Anyone interested in gardening is welcome to participate. The group meets on Wednesdays.

Anyone wishing to join the Falls Active Adult Center for a hot meal each day at noon for a suggested donation of $2 for those 60 and over and $4.62 for those under 60 should call Twila at 570-388-2623 by 12:30 p.m. the day before.


Club to meet Nov. 10

EXETER — The Cosmopolitan Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 in St. Anthony’s Center. Host/hostesses are Amy Alpaugh, Tom Alpaugh, Antoinette Manganello and Juanita Herrick. Members are asked to wear something patriotic in honor of Veterans Day.

A trip is being planned to Sands Casino for Thursday, Nov. 19. Pickups are in Exeter and Pittston. Non-members are welcome. Call Johanna at 570-655-2720 for reservations and information.


Club to meet Nov. 19

PITTSTON —The club will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19 in the St. Joseph Marello Parish Center. Primary discussion will be of the Christmas Party. Members are reminded that a payment of $35 per person is to be made upon making reservations at this meeting. Call Rose Marie Amico at 570-654-0046 to make a reservation. The St. Joseph’s Social Senior Club Christmas party will be held at Fox Hill Country Club on Wednesday, Dec. 9. More details to come.

St. Joseph’s Senior Social Club and Unlimited Travel will sponsor a bus trip to Hunterdon Hills Playhouse Dinner Theater, on Wednesday, Dec. 2. There will be a holiday show, full course meal and dessert table. Cost is $99 and non-members are welcome. Pickup will be the Pittston Shopping Plaza near Planet Fitness.
