Sunshine, cooler temperatures expected into the midweek

No rain or snow is in the forecast through the midweek — instead, mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures are expected.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 28 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with freezing fog reported in the area.

Areas of dense fog are expected before 10 a.m. this morning — otherwise, mostly sunny skies are expected. Today’s high will be near 49.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, with a low around 29.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Tuesday, with a high near 43. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 31.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with a high near 45. Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Wednesday night, along with a slight chance of showers. The low will be around 38.
