Areas of heavy traffic congestion could slow down the morning commute

    Areas of heavy traffic congestion could add some time onto the morning commute.

    Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstates 81, while scattered areas of minor traffic congestion are reported throughout Interstate 476.

    Some minor and heavy congestion is reported on Route 315 from East Main Street and extending south. Route 115 is reporting heavy traffic in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

    Free-flowing traffic is reported the North Cross Valley Expressway, but some heavy congestion is reported on the on-ramps of Route 315.

    Spring Street is reporting heavy Traffic congestion past Mundy Street and extending toward Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard.

    The downtown area is reporting scattered areas of minor and heavy traffic congestion. Affected areas include:

    • Wilkes-Barre / South Wilkes-Barre boulevards

    • East Northampton Street

    • Academy Street

    • Hazle Street

    • North / South Main street

    • West Market Street

    • East North Street

    • North / South Franklin streets

    • North / South River streets

    In Kingston, scattered areas of heavy traffic congestion are reported on Market Street in the area of South Welles Avenue. Heavy congestion is also reported on Wyoming Avenue near Northampton Street toward Edwardsville, as well as near Division Street.
