Sunny skies, warmer temperatures expected this weekend

The sun is expected to shine, and the temperatures should climb, as the Wyoming Valley enters the weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 45 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fog and mist reported.

Partly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 54. Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, with a low around 41.

Partly sunny skies will wrap up the week on Friday, with a high near 56. Mostly cloudy skies are expected into Friday night, with a low around 45.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, with a high near 59. Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Saturday night, with a low around 50.

Mostly cloudy skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 61. Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Sunday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 52.
