Rain will be possible in the Wyoming Valley right up to Christmas Day.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 43 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with rain and fog reported.

Showers are expected today, with a 90 percent chance of rain expected. A half an inch of total rainfall is possible, and today’s high will be near 55.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, with a low around 44.

Showers are once again expected on Wednesday, with a 90 percent chance of precipitation predicted. Up to three quarters of an inch of rain is possible, and the high will be near 58.

Showers will be likely before 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, with another half an inch of rain possible. The low will be around 57.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Christmas Eve on Thursday, along with a 50 percent chance of showers. The high will climb to about 68.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, along with a slight chance of showers. The low will be around 48 degrees.

Partly sunny skies are expected on Christmas Day, with a high near 55. Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 38.
