Commuters should have little trouble on the ride to work this morning

Commuters heading back to work after the holiday weekend should have little trouble on the morning commute.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstate 81, while some heavy congestion is reported on Interstate 476 south of the exchange in Dupont.

Scattered areas of minor congestion are reported on Route 315, while heavy congestion is reported on Route 115 in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of traffic congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps.

Surrounding the Wyoming Valley Mall, minor and heavy congestion is reported on Kidder and Mundy streets.

Downtown, a few streets are reporting some scattered areas of traffic congestion. Affected areas include:

• Wilkes-Barre / South Wilkes-Barre boulevards

• Hazle Street

• South Pennsylvania Avenue

• East Market Street

• North / South River streets

In Kingston, scattered areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
