Areas of minor, heavy traffic congestion could slow the morning commute

Commuters could encounter some delays due to areas of traffic congestion this morning.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstates 81 and 476. Route 315 is also free of congestion, while Route 115 is reporting heavy traffic in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, some scattered minor and heavy congestion is reported on Kidder, Spring and Mundy streets. Scattered congestion is also reported on Highland Park Boulevard and extending onto Coal Street.

Downtown, scattered minor congestion is reported on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Areas of heavy congestion are reported on North and South Pennsylvania avenues, along with Hazle East Market, West North and East North streets.

South River Street is reporting scattered minor congestion, while North River Street is reporting heavy traffic congestion in the area of West North Street.

In Kingston, areas of minor and heavy traffic congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
