Rain is expected today, along with the chance for some snow tonight, but the weekend in the Wyoming Valley should be much quieter.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 48 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with light rain reported.

Showers are expected before 9 a.m. today, with up to a tenth of an inch of rain possible. Cloudy skies are expected otherwise, and today’s high will drop to 41 degrees by 4 p.m.

Tonight, there will be chance of showers before 9 p.m., followed by a chance of rain and snow showers into the overnight hours. Less than half an inch of snow accumulation is expected, and tonight’s low will be around 22.

Mostly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, along with a slight chance of snow showers. The high will be near 31.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Friday night, with a low around 19.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, with a high near 36. Mostly cloudy skies are expected to carry over into Saturday night, with a low around 29.

Mostly sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 51. Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Sunday night, with a low around 38.
