Lorenzi named president’s scholar
RAYMOND, Miss. — Katherine Lorenzi, Pittston, has been named a president’s scholar at Hinds Community College for the 2015 fall semester.
President’s scholars are those with a cumulative GPA for a 4.0.
Morris retiring from IBM
MILTON, N.Y. — Richard Morris, formerly of Duryea, will retire from IBM after nearly 35 years of service.
Morris is a 1973 graduate of Pittston Area High School and joined IBM in July of 1981 in its high-end server division located in Poughkeepsie, New York. While at IBM he attained the level of senior engineer.
Morris is married to the former Ann Janiga of Port Blanchard, also a 1973 graduate of Pittston Area High School.
They presently reside in Milton, New York and have two children Christina and Richard Jr., both of Milton.
Tavaglione studying in Rome
WILKES-BARRE — Matthew Tavaglione, Pittston, is currently studying abroad at John Cabot University in Rome, Italy.
He is a sophomore international business and marketing major at King’s College, where he is a dean’s list student, a member of the Commuter Life Association and the International Business and Economics Club.
Tavaglione is the son of Joseph and Nancy Tavaglione.
