Local Chatter: Therese Roughsedge, Pittston, awarded honorable mention for poem

Roughsedge earns award

WILKES-BARRE — King’s College student Therese Roughsedge, Pittston, was awarded honorable mention for her poem “Becoming a Woman” in the annual Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES) National Undergraduate Writing Competition.

DES is the national honor society for colleges and universities in the Catholic tradition.

Roughsedge is the music director at WRKC, the student-run radio station, and has participated in the Intercollegiate Broadcasting Awards national competition.

She is the daughter of Marion and Thomas Roughsedge.

Moluski presents research

SELINSGROVE — Pittston resident Samantha Moluski was one of 16 students from Susquehanna University who recently presented research at the annual Eastern Psychological Association Meeting in New York City.

She presented a poster entitled “Big-Five Personality, Risky Sexual Behavior, and Pornography Consumption.”

Moluski, a psychology major, is a 2012 graduate of Pittston Area High School and the daughter of Cindy Moluski.
