The Wyoming Valley is expected to catch a small break from precipitation, and temperatures are expected to climb as the week progresses.
Rain and snow, however, will be possible near the latter part of the week.
The National Weather Service indicated that it was 21 degrees as of 5:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.
Sunny skies are expected today, but the high will only climb to 36. Mostly clear skies will follow tonight, with the low dropping to around 19.
Clouds will increase on Wednesday, and winds could gust as high as 28 miles per hour. The high will be near 48.
Mostly cloudy skies are expected into Wednesday night, with a chance of rain before 11 p.m. and showers becoming likely into the overnight hours. The low will be around 41.
Showers are predicted for Thursday, but no precipitation amounts have been predicted. The high will be near 54.
Cloudy skies will carry over into Thursday night, along with a chance of rain before 2 a.m. and snow showers into the early-morning hours of Friday. No precipitation amounts have been predicted, but the low will be around 34.
