Students inducted into society
DALLAS TWP. — The Department of English at Misericordia University inducted nine students, including Matthew Gromala, Pittston Township, and Leah Santucci, Laflin, into the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society during a ceremony on campus.
Misericordia University students majoring or minoring in English are eligible for Sigma Tau Delta after completing at least three semesters in the program and maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.2 in the major’s courses and a 3.0 GPA overall.
Zezza interns at Susquehanna
SELINSGROVE — Jordan Zezza, of Exeter, is interning at Susquehanna University this summer thanks to a grant for summer opportunities.
Zezza, a biochemistry major in the Class of 2017, is a 2013 graduate of Wyoming Area High School and the son of Jerry and Doreen Zezza.
Knaub named to dean’s list
ELMIRA, N.Y. — Elizabeth Knaub, West Wyoming, has been named to the Elmira College Dean’s List for the 2016 winter semester.
Students who earn a 3.6 or greater grade point average on a 4.0 scale for the academic term are recognized on the Elmira College Dean’s List for academic excellence.
Jumper recognized
ANNVILLE — Duryea resident Katlyn Jumper is among 36 students Lebanon Valley College is recognizing for contributions to the success of the VALE Conference and VALE Records during the 2015-16 academic year.
VALE Records is a student-run branch of VALE Music Group LLC, located within the college.
Jumper is a graduate of Pittston Area Senior High School and is pursuing a bachelor of arts in music business at The Valley. Jumper served as president of the VALE Conference.
Spagnuolo makes presentation
WILKES-BARRE — Gabrielle Spagnuolo, a Wyoming resident and a recent Phi Alpha Theta inductee, presented “The Election of 1800: The Breaking of a Friendship” at the regional Phi Alpha Theta conference at West Chester University on April 9.
Phi Alpha Theta is a national history honor society.
