Sunny skies expected through the latter part of the week

It looks like the Wyoming Valley will get a respite from the rain until the latter part of the week.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 55 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Mostly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 78. Mostly clear skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 53.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with a high near 82. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Wednesday night, with a low around 59.

Mostly sunny skies are expected for Thursday, along with a 40 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. The high will be near 83.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Thursday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 64.
