Sunshine is expected in the Wyoming Valley through the midweek, along with steadily-climbing temperatures.

Rain, however, will come back into the forecast during the latter part of the week.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 54 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.

Partly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 74. Winds could also gust as high as 23 mph.

Mostly cloudy skies will gradually become clear overnight tonight, with a low around 51.

Sunny skies are predicted for Tuesday, with a high near 76. Clear skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 51.

Sunny skies are expected for Wednesday, with a high near 81.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Wednesday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 a.m. The low will be around 60.

Rain will be likely after 8 a.m. on Thursday, but no rainfall amounts have been predicted. The high will be near 75.

Thursday night will be bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 58.

Partly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, along with 30 percent chance of showers. The high will be near 77.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Friday night, with a low around 54.
