Sunshine, chance of rain predicted in the Wyoming Valley this week

After a gorgeous holiday weekend, the Wyoming Valley will see a mixture of sunshine and a chance for rain as the week rolls on.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 69 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fog and mist were reported.

Cloudy skies will gradually become sunny today, but there will be a 50 percent chance of showers, with thunderstorms possible after 1 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and today’s high will be near 86.

Clear skies are expected tonight, with a low around 65.

Sunny skies are predicted for Wednesday, with a high near 90. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Wednesday night, with a low around 69.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, along with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9 a.m. The high will be near 90.

Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Thursday night, along with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3 a.m. The low will be around 68.
