Sunshine is expected to kick off the new week in the Wyoming Valley, but there will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 60 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

Sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 84. Partly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 59.

Mostly sunny skies are predicted Tuesday, with a high near 86. Partly cloudy skies will follow into Tuesday night, with a low around 67.

Mostly sunny skies will stick around into Wednesday, but there will also be a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. The high will be near 88.
