Wyoming Valley residents are advised to keep cool and hydrated during a continuing heat wave that has hit our area.

Sunny skies and 90-degree plus temperatures will continue in the Wyoming Valley Sunday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 65 degrees as of 6:13 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

Sunny and clear skies were expected today with a high near 96, with calm wind of five to eight mph this afternoon.

An overnight low of 71 is predicted with a chance of thunderstorms.

Monday will remain hot with a predicted high of 95 and a continuing chance of thunderstorms.

A Monday overnight low will be about 71 degrees.
