Showers, thunderstorms possible in the Wyoming Valley as the weekend approaches

    The Wyoming Valley could see some more rain and thunderstorms as the weekend approaches.

    The National Weather Service indicated it was 64 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fair skies were reported.

    Areas of fog are possible before 9 a.m. this morning — otherwise, sunny skies are expected. The high will be near 89.

    Mostly clear skies expected tonight, with a low around 65.

    Mostly sunny skies are predicted for Thursday, along with isolated showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The high will be near 91.

    Clouds will move into the area into Thursday night, and there will be a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible, and the low will be around 68.

    Mostly cloudy skies will round out the week on Friday, along with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 84.

    Mostly cloudy skies will carry over into Friday night, along with isolated showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 67.
