The chance for showers and thunderstorms will plague the Wyoming Valley for the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 76 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.

Cloudy skies are expected today, along with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Up to half an inch of total rainfall is possible, and today’s high will be near 86.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into tonight, and there will be a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 4 a.m. Up to a quarter of an inch of total rainfall is possible, and the low will be around 72.

Thursday will once again bring mostly cloudy skies and a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms. Up to a quarter of an inch of total rainfall is possible, and the high will be near 88.

Clouds will carry over into Thursday night, along with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible, and the low will be around 72.

Partly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, but there will be a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 90.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Friday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The low will be around 74.
