Mostly cloudy conditions and a chance of showers and thunderstorms are in the forecast today for the Wyoming Valley.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 79 degrees as of 8:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fair skies reported.

Today’s forecast is expected to be mostly cloudy with a high near 88. Showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 5 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Tonight calls for scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy with a low around 70, with patchy fog expected after 5 a.m.

On Monday, there is a slight chance of late morning and early afternoon showers. Patchy fog expected before 9 a.m., otherwise partly sunny with a high near 88. Chance of rain is 20 percent.

Monday night also calls for a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.

On Tuesday, showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Tuesday night is much of the same with showers and thunderstorms likely before 2 a.m., then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71.
