Rain is expected to soak the Wyoming Valley into the weekend, and some of the showers could be heavy at times.

According to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service, locally heavy showers are expected Thursday and into Thursday night. Around one inch of total rainfall is expected, but some localized higher amounts are possible if thunderstorms develop.

If heavier rain does occur, poor drainage and urban flooding could be possible.

No watches or warnings have been issued for Luzerne County.
