The Wyoming Valley forecast calls for higher-than-normal temperatures into Tuesday with a slight chance of rain tonight.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 53 degrees as of 8:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and mostly cloudy conditions were reported.

Today will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Tonight calls for a chance of showers, mainly after 3 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
